When should I book holiday lighting in East Grand Rapids?

Book in September or early October. We install from October through early December, and that window is not flexible in West Michigan - lake-effect snow can put four to six inches on your roof in mid-November while the rest of the state is still raking leaves. The calendar fills front-to-back, so the homeowners who call in September get their preferred install week, and the ones who call December 1st get whatever is left. If you want lights on for Thanksgiving, September is the right call.

Can you install on a steep or three-story roof?

Yes. That is a large share of what we do in East Grand Rapids. Steep pitches, dormers, and third-story gables are normal work for us with proper roof anchoring and fall protection. This is also the single best reason to hire this out rather than doing it yourself - the height and pitch that make your house look spectacular lit are the same height and pitch that make a January takedown genuinely dangerous.

Will the clips damage my slate, cedar, or original trim?

No. We do not staple, nail, or glue anything to your house. Attachment is all-clip, sized to the surface - shingle clips on shingle, gutter clips on gutter, fascia clips where the run calls for it. On older Reeds Lake homes with slate or original woodwork we adjust method to material and will walk you through the plan on-site before anything goes up. If a surface is not safe to attach to, we say so and route the run differently.

Do you take the lights down, or is that on me?

We take them down. Takedown runs January into February and is included in the install. Your strands come back to our facility, labeled with your name, and we store them until next season. You do not store anything, and you do not spend a Saturday in January on an icy roof.

How much does holiday lighting cost in East Grand Rapids?

Pricing is driven by linear footage, roof height and pitch, and how many features you want lit - roofline only is the entry point, and it climbs as you add gables, dormers, columns, wreaths, garland, and trees. We quote after an on-site walkthrough, because measuring your actual roofline is the only honest way to price it. Anyone quoting you sight-unseen over the phone is guessing, and the guess is usually revised upward once they see the house.

What is the difference between holiday lighting and permanent lighting?

Holiday lighting is a seasonal install: up in October or November, down in January, stored by us. Permanent lighting is a fixed LED channel installed under the eave and roofline, wired in and controlled from your phone - it stays year-round, disappears in daylight, and changes color and pattern on demand. Holiday costs less per season; permanent costs more up front and then gives you twelve months of use with no annual install, no ladder, and no storage.

Do you serve just East Grand Rapids or the surrounding neighborhoods too?

Can I keep the permanent lights on year-round or only in December?

Year-round, and most of our permanent clients do. Warm white is the default setting and it reads as architectural lighting rather than holiday decoration - a clean, lit roofline on a dark February evening. Then you change it when you want to: red and green in December, orange for Halloween, blue and gold for a graduation, team colors during a playoff run. It is one system doing twelve months of work.
